Let’s be honest: owning your favorite holiday TV specials on DVD is cheating. It just is. Those are the rules. Sure those Christmas DVD gift sets are tempting, and it doesn’t help that every Walgreens and Duane Reade in the city positions them ever so tantalizingly at the checkout line. But part of what makes those retro stop-motion and animated specials so, well, special is catching them when their air just once a year. Obviously you have a ton of holiday parties, family functions and get-togethers with friends to attend this holiday season, but you should seriously consider getting some of the boys together for a holiday special viewing party. Settle in with some rum-spiked hot cocoa for these classic Christmas specials.
