KT Sullivan

This month, as it’s done for the past 23 years, The Mabel Mercer Foundation will present the 24th New York Cabaret Convention (MabelMercer.org) Oct 7–10, as well as special events Cutting Edge at The Cutting Room on Oct 11 and Cabaret: Past, Present & Future at 54 Below on Oct 12. Since the passing of its founder, Donald Smith, the Mercer Foundation has been led by KT Sullivan, who’s done a marvelous job coordinating this year’s lineup of talent. Don’t miss their Gala Opening Night hosted by Sullivan on Oct 7; Come Fly with Me: The Songs of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen with hosts Bill Boggs and curator Will Friedwald on Oct 8; Falling in Love with Love: The Songs of Rodgers & Hart with Jeff Harnar and Andrea Marcovicci as the evening’s hosts, and Before the Parade Passes By, hosted by the indefatigable Klea Blackhurst on Oct 10.

Up at Merkin Concert Hall the terrific Broadway Close Up series (KaufmanMusicCenter.org) kicks off its fall season with Bound for Broadway hosted by Liz Callaway on Oct 7, A Party with Amanda Green on Oct 28; Cy Coleman, Ladies Man hosted by Sean Hartley on Nov 18; and Sing for Your Supper with music director David Loud on Dec 9. This series always sells out so don’t delay!
