Model Minute: Lucas Paul Helps You Get That Beach-Ready Bod

"I’ve always been an athlete. I just kind of want to carry on the love I have for training and sports to others."

A minute with one of our sexy swimsuit models, Lucas Paul.

How long have you been modeling?

I went to NYU, so I moved to New York when I was 18, and the first shoot I did, I had just turned 19.

Any exciting projects you’re currently working on?

My job [at Brooklyn Bodyburn]! I’m a trainer, a coach, and an athlete, so pretty much that is my entire life. So some of the times I’ll have more fitness model things that relate to my job. I’m a distance runner and I’m also a coach. Modeling is more of a side thing.

I came to NYU as an athlete. I’ve always been an athlete—basically since I could walk. It’s in my blood. I just kind of want to carry on the love I have for training and sports to others.

Any tips for those trying to get a beach-ready body?

My main advice would be to come by and take a class… I am the biggest advocate of the Megaformer. It’s really changed my body. It’s a very functional workout, but it’s so amazing. You work out every muscle to complete full fatigue; you’re body is absolutely shaking by the end of it.

What’s your diet like?

I’m gluten free, I’m dairy free. I basically live off of lean proteins, a lot of vegetables; very good fatty acids. Avocados, almond butter—very good fats… Really good fats actually stimulate fat-burn. I put coconut oil in my coffee every the morning.

Where are you most excited to show off on the beach this summer? Any vacation plans?

I’m going to the Gay Games in August. Basically, it’s all athletic events, everything you can think of in the Olympics except for gymnastics, which makes me very, very sad. I’m definitely hoping to bring back some medals, so I’m very excited.
