Betty Who is somebody to love.

Once described by New York Magazine as a mix of "early Madonna...Katy Perry and Robyn, with spunk and confidence", and by Elle as "your next pop obsession", Australian pop-singer, Betty Who, is a force to be reckoned with. She has built a passionate and loyal LGBT fan base through her early EP's, undeniable charisma and ecstatic live show.

Well, Who is bringing that ecstatic live show our way to the inaugural Pinesfest on Fire Island Labor Day weekend. She headlines the second day of the festival, that promises to be a day full of sexy fun vibes and lots of good music.

We had the opportunity to shoot some questions her way before she comes to the Island. We chatted about her loyal fan base, why the gays love her so much, what's next, and her favorite emoji.

Alexander Kacala: You're coming to Fire Island! Have you ever been before? What are looking forward to?

Betty Who: I've never been! I'm so excited to come. I've heard nothing but beautiful things. I love the beach so I can't wait to go swimming and hopefully have a little down time.

Going to school in Boston, did you ever go to Provincetown?

I actually did! I went to P-Town with my mum over Labor Day weekend when I was a sophomore, I think? And I had the best time, we saw a fierce drag show and went to a white party. She and I were a tad out of place but still held it down.

Other than Spencer and Dustin's viral video (which STILL makes me cry when I watch it), why do you think you have developed such a strong LGBT following?

I honestly can't pinpoint a single thing or moment in my career that led me to being so involved in the LGBT community. Ever since my first show in New York City I've just been totally enamored and in love with the community. I try to just always be myself and do what makes me happy and proud. I think that need for authenticity I feel is a feeling that is shared by the LGBT community also. Who wouldn't wanna celebrate how fabulous you are, just being you?

I actually really do listen to your album a lot. It's one of those albums you can listen to and never skip a song. Other than "Somebody Loves You," what is your favorite track? I think mine is "High Society".

It changes all the time but I think it's "Just Like Me". Although I'm having so much fun singing "I Love You Always Forever" live!

I know you just did a fabulous cover of "I Love You Always Forever", but when can fans except new original music or an album? Are you recording one currently?

I'm almost done with my first single (#fingerscrossed #prayforme) and I wanna put it out literally as soon as I'm allowed to! I have so many songs I'm excited to share. I feel like I've been very cryptic and keep saying "yeah yeah it's coming!" But I really mean it!

What can festival goers expect from your set at Pinesfest?

Some brand new dance moves and songs and at least a high kick or two.

Two of my friends are probably two of your biggest fans - Mary Pitek and Kevin Haines. I think you refer to Kevin as "Kevin From Boston." They are a representation of the huge cult following you have developed. What would you say to Kevin and Mary and to all of your fans out there that love you so much?

KEVIN FROM BOSTON! I LOVE KEVIN FROM BOSTON! AND MARY TOO! My fans are honestly the best fans in the world, I don't know how I got so lucky. I always am so in awe of how much love and energy everyone brings to my shows. So to all of you: thank you. There aren't enough words in the world to express my gratitude for all your support.

What's your favorite emoji right now?

Always.
